Week 21 Jim Moll

                 This week is unique: all weeks and days really are unique!

My virtue word this week is “Imagination.” Children have it in abundance; let’s give ourselves permission to turn ours on, or turn it up in volume.

A poem I remember: ” Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that can not fly.
Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams go, life is a field, all covered with snow.”

The Physics lesson we had this week still has me thinking: is it possible that EVERYTHING is really mostly empty space? No, I’m not referring to my brain (only.) Basically, all is energy; we are all miracles of creation. We are simply dust, or particles, which have the breath of life within– the life force. Everything is in motion. “There is no standing still in a world where all is motion.”
Is that why I’ve heard that “either we’re green and growing or ripe and rotting?”

Someone posted a poem about gratitude by Og Mandino that I wish to share:

                        I stopped to buy some candy, the lad who sold it had such charm; I talked with him, he seemed so glad; if I were late, it would do no harm. As I left, he  said to me, I thank you, you have been so kind. It’s nice to talk with folks like you, you see, he said, I am blind. Oh God, forgive me when I whine; I have two eyes, the world is mine.                                                                                                    Later while walking down the street, I saw a child with eyes aglued. He stood and watched the others play, he did not know what to do. I stopped a moment and then I said, why don’t you join the others, dear. He looked ahead without a word; and then I knew, he couldn’t hear. Oh God, forgive me when I whine; I have two ears, the world is mine. 
                            With feet to take me where I go; with eyes to see the sunset’s glow; with ears to hear what I would know; Oh God, forgive me when I whine, I am blessed indeed, the world is mine.                                             Remembering to be grateful for ALL this life has to give us is something to always be aware of because we really never know when our time will be up. It’s a great reminder to always stay in the moment and be present,  because it truly is a gift.

Week 17 Jim Moll

New perspectives again! Each week we learn and practice, putting into action what we study. The previous blog posted (found below)has a great summary of our reading assignment, so I won’t repeat the reading part here.
One concept which I learned, is that we can give ourselves permission to do/feel/think of things any way we would like. One example of an important “permission” is to allow ourselves to forgive others and even forgive ourselves for mistakes or wrongs. Another example could be to give ourselves permission to succeed, permission to live a life of abundance! Perhaps we have grown up with a scarcity paradigm, thinking that there is only “one sized pie”, so if someone else gets more, there is less available for others. Not true! “A rising tide lifts all boats!” In this land of abundance, as we add more to life,we create more abundance for others. Give yourself permission to live a life of abundance! Give yourself permission to succeed. You can do it!
We had an exciting week with the “kindness” exercise. Less than 300 people in our group either did acts of kindness (some “random” anonymous acts)or observed others doing the same. We got excited, and by week’s end we tallied over 8,000 acts of kindness. Abundance?!! What of the “ripple effect”? How many other people were inspired to do the same, or to continue this exercise in the days ahead? Perhaps you’ve heard of “Random acts of kindness” and/or “Pay it forward.” The more you observe these things, the more they will grow.Being kind and having gratitude go hand in hand. Dennis Prager says that grateful people are happy people.
Einstein once said: “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
You are a miracle.

Hope everyone is have an excellent week and that all your goals and dreams are beginning to manifest!

For this weeks lesson there were a lot of powerful messages (as there always is in this book)

1.The first one was the power of Intuition, I never really explored Intuition or how to develop it till I read this passage….

“Intuition arrives at conclusions without the aid of experience or memory. Intuition often solves problems that are beyond the grasp of the reasoning power. Intuition often comes with a suddenness that is startling; it reveals the truth for which we are searching, so directly that it seems to come from a higher power. Intuition can be cultivated and developed; in order to do this it must be recognised and appreciated; if the intuitive visitor is given a royal welcome when he comes, he will come again; the more cordial the welcome the more frequent his visits will become, but if he is ignored or neglected he will make his visits few and far apart.”

2.Also this next passage hit me hard as well, taking time to be silent!!! I have consistently been doing my quiet time ritual for about 2.5 weeks now, and even though my thoughts are all jumbled and crazy its a time a calmness and peace that I get from consistently blocking out all distractions and noise and just sitting in silence with myself and visualising my future and where I’m going to be. Also a therapeutic escape…

” Intuition usually comes in the Silence; great minds seek solitude frequently; it is here that all the larger problems of life are worked out. For this reason every businessman who can afford it has a private office, where he will not be disturbed; if you cannot afford a private office you can at least find somewhere, where you can be alone a few minutes each day, to train the thought along lines which will enable you to develop that invincible power which is necessary to achieve.”

3. This is another one that spoke to me, Every challenge I face while building my business or in life, yes it may have been hard while I was going through it, but when I come out on the other side I have noticed my faith has grew because I persevered through.

Every obstacle conquered, every victory gained, will give you more faith in your power, and you will have greater ability to win. Your strength is determined by your mental attitude; if this attitude is one of success, and is permanently held with an unswerving purpose, you will attract to you from the invisible things you silently demand.

4. Lastly, I have been really focusing on getting better and mastering my quiet time ritual, beginning to intentionally begin to gain control of my mind and thoughts and this passage has really helped lay out a clear outline on how to do exactly that. Even during my life when Im beginning to thing fear, anger, jealousy or any other negative thought…. I immedietly try to shift to something positive like abundance, courage, love etc! So powerful and its such a simple change but I know it will have a profound impact in the long term….

3. For your exercise this week concentrate as nearly as possible in accordance with the method outlined in this lesson; let there be no conscious effort or activity associated with your purpose. Relax completely, avoid any thought of anxiety as to results. Remember that power comes through repose. Let the thought dwell upon your object, until it is completely identified with it, until you are conscious of nothing else. 34. If you wish to eliminate fear, concentrate on courage. 35. If you wish to eliminate lack, concentrate on abundance. 36. If you wish to eliminate disease, concentrate on health. 37. Always concentrate on the ideal as an already existing fact; this is the germ cell, the life principle which goes forth and sets in motion those causes which guide, direct and bring about the necessary relation, which eventually manifest in form

Week 16  Kindtagious

I have been enjoying this week very much. I find myself fully revitalized on my MKE mission, I have some time and space to focus the way I want to on the exercises, the readings, and the always challenging mental diet.

The MKE exercises have been amazing, great tools, brain trainers, to keep my own goals and behaviors in my mind, with the use of repetetive readings, and associations with shapes, colours and index cards. Now they are pretty much habits, good habits……But I must say, this shift into looking for the virtues in other people’s actions has been the eye opener that was promised. The Franklin makeover is really resonating with me, as a practical application of all that we have been learning.

This week of kindness has been particularly powerful. Firstly reading all the RAKs on the kindness page has been wonderful, people are getting into it, and…

Blog 15 the Ripple-ectomy

Hello to all who stumble across this blog. It seems every week has its intense moments. A few short weeks ago I was very discouraged at my performance in the MKE. As I was at my lowest, that’s when it happened, it seemed every lesson, every scroll, points discussed in the webinars, were absorbed on a deeper level at the very moment I needed them the most. My partner, my guide, my tribe, and the blogs of others reinforced I am not alone, these new habits, this remembering who we are, is a true shock to our system.

The ferocity with which my old blueprint wants to protect itself is quite remarkable…To replay some of the things I had thought or said last week, to be that third person in the room, and see my behaviour, was an amazing display of the ego feeding the subby, with undesirable information, embracing…
